Food on my day off

I made a ton of food on my day off. I did not stop simply with my Chic Pea and Sweet Potato dish. I continued to make 2 batches of Seitan Steaks to share and play around with. I threw together another Chocolate Cake (this time I added chocolate chunks and pecan pieces). I still was not done, I topped it all off with a great green smoothie. I used both spinach and kale alongside the kiwi, and banana and it was delicious! I wish I had the time and consistent schedule to make and drink one of these every morning.

I am super excited, I was able to pick up a package of Irish Moss today for less than $1.00. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet but it will be awesome and soon. My newest cookbook, Living Raw Food, has many recipes that require this odd looking sea vegetable. There are also a plethora of great raw juices that i am eager to try. I have so many ideas and no one to cook for. What a sad dilemma.

Sometimes I feel like that too! My husband is not vegan so many times he declines offers of my food. Sad huh?

score on the irish moss! i've seen a bunch of recipes on therawchef.com that call for it and i've never attempted many of them because i've never had the extra cash to splurge on some. i can't wait to see all the raw deliciousness you make with it. i looooove when i have the day off and have mucho time and energy to cook - it's my absolute fav! chocolate cake with chocolate chunks 'n pecans sounds oh-so tasty; your chickpea 'n sweet potato dish looks great (i love the plate, too!), and aren't green smoothies the best?! they're also my fav - and one helluva way to get some awesomeness in one glass. mmmmmm!

No one to cook for? What about yourself? You'll just get really good at cutting recipes in half . . . or fourths! When I lived alone I used to make mini-lasagnas in a 9-inch bread pan! Cooking for one isn't as hard as it sounds . . . !

What a great deal for the irish moss! I've never even found it in an actually store, let alone been able to look for the best price. Very curious to see what you end up doing with it!
