Back to scratch

It has been awhile since I made black beans from scratch.  I am not sure why really, when we lived in Georgia I made them often.  Last night was one of those nights, I made them from scratch.  Maybe I just needed some perspective because these might have been the best beans I have made.

The beans were soft, savory, and topped with guacamole and freshly sliced mango.  They really hit the spot: creamy and delicious.  The leftovers might even make some great burritos!
